why we’re buzzing…

we just watched this again this weekend, we don’t care what the animé die-hards say about this not living up to the cartoon or the book, we looooove this movie. ok, so maybe the acting was suspect, but the scenery was epic, the concept is beyond cool, and we never hate on movies for not living up to the original story, we just enjoy things for what they are!

The Last Airbender

ok, so if you got scared off of this movie because of the nerd herd hate, we're here to let you know that some people are actually super stoked on this movie.

we're not even really into M. Night Shyamalan movies. 5 minutes into 'The Sixth Sense' jenna turned to krissie and said "he's dead". and what was with that whole amish-esque people horror movie? i mean really, his movies are normally not our flavor of cupcake at all. maybe since this is a "family" movie... so it's kind of meant for kids... is what makes it right for us haha.

the concept ...

we love, love, LOVE that concept of this story. for those of you that haven't seen it, it's about the world being divided into the four element kingdoms... water, air, earth, and fire. "chosen ones" within each kingdom can manipulate, or "bend" the element of their kingdom. we're incredibly nerdy about meta-physics and cool stuff that should be impossible being possible, so this movie totally plays to the "whoa, that's so rad" part of our brains. whether or not this does the original story any justice, meh, we don't know. we also don't care and we can't wait for Airbender 2 baby.
