our favorite Brittany Murphy role for sure. Dakota Fanning is adorable in everything, but she has the best ’8 year old going on 40′ in this ever.
the story…
Molly, played by Brittany Murphy, is a spoiled rich daughter of a rock legend who is forced to get a job when all of her money is stolen. She takes a job as a nanny for a little girl nicknamed ‘Ray’ who needs to be reminded of her childhood, and in return helps Molly sort out her own issues about growing up.
Brittany Murphy…
we love her character in this because we totally relate to not ever wanting to grow up 
. she does a great job at playing spoiled in this, but still being endearing so you love her.
Dakota Fanning…
we actually decided to watch ‘Uptown Girls’ again because we just went to see ‘New Moon’ this weekend and wanted to watch Dakota back in her innocent years, haha. she’s definitely skilled beyond her years as an actress, and so good in this movie.
why watch it?
it’s an adorable story about a big girl not wanting to grow up and a little girl having to grow up too fast and how they find a balance in the middle. Brittany and Dakota are super cute in it, Donald Faison is pretty funny in it, and Jesse Spencer is kinda hot in it. it’s a feel good Sunday afternoon movie that doesn’t make you over think, but still inspires you a little.
