Champions, Creative Spirits and Comeback Kids – The Amazing Girls Whose Stories Inspired Us In 2011
the princesses…
Melanie Moore, USA Women’s Soccer Team, Olivia Chachi Gonzales, Drew Ryniewicz, Bethany Hamilton, and Demi Lovato.
why we’re buzzing…
all of these amazing females shined their lights super bright in 2011, and we took a little piece of inspiration from all of them…
the champions...
The USA Women's Soccer Team
in the 2011 World Cup, these fierce females kicked and fought with every fiber of their beings, and came up just short of the title. but they proved to us that champions aren't defined by trophies or titles... champions are determined by the steps they take, and the character they embody, as they go on the journey.
Melanie Moore
she blew our minds through the tv every week with each episode of 'So You Think You Can Dance', and then she completely took our breath away when we saw her dance live on the 'So You Think You Can Dance' tour. Melanie showed us that just when you think someone can't possibly be more talented or more impressive, they can prove you wrong and do something even more amazing next time they perform. it's no wonder she was the 2011 'So You Think You Can Dance' champion... Melanie inspires us to realize that when you do something with unwavering passion, what you are capable of is limitless.

Olivia Chachi Gonzales
she started her journey in dance by taking more traditional classes like ballet and jazz, but as she explored her talent, she discovered that nothing made her feel as amazing as the way she felt with hip hop movement. Olivia shows us that destiny happens when you live your life "in the flow" - pun intended :) . when you follow your gut instincts and listen to your heart, life will open the perfect doors and lead you down the path you are meant to take. being that her path ended up with her being part of the 2011 America's Best Dance Crew champions, we think our theory is pretty right on.

Drew Ryniewicz
Drew shows us that even if you are bullied in life, or if you have to fight through awkward phases and insecurities, it will get better, and you just have to believe in the truth of who you are. despite some hard times in her youth, she has nurtured her natural gifts and embraced what makes her special. that positive self awareness in the face of judgment and negativity has allowed her talent and creativity to shine bright. Drew may have been eliminated from X factor way too soon, but we know her music career has only just begun.

Demi Lovato
Demi hit rock bottom, made a few mistakes, faced some serious inner demons, and went through all of it under the judgment and scrutiny of the public eye, but we think she came out of it even more inspired and beautiful than before. she shows us that no matter how dark it gets, or how much you lose yourself, you can always fight your way out of it. and once you're through it, you just might discover an even more beautiful "you" on the other side.

Bethany Hamilton
even though the challenge in her story started in 2003 when she was attacked by a shark, and her comeback also started in 2003 when she was already surfing again just weeks later, Bethany Hamilton's journey hit an all time high in 2011 when the movie 'Soul Surfer' brought her story to the big screen. Bethany shows us that what may seem like your biggest tragedy in life, may actually end up being the turn of events that takes you on your greatest adventure.
