The Redwood Forest
what’s the destination?
The Redwood Forest in Northern California
what it’s famous for…
really big trees. all you really need to know is that it’s where the Endor Ewok Village scenes were filmed in ‘Return of The Jedi’. that alone makes it awesome.
have we been there?
jenna and krissie have. it’s the place with the prettiest trees ever.

The Redwood Forest
why we love it...

amazing walking trails. it really is like an enchanted forest. it's huge too, so there are miles and miles of trails, and every inch of it is magic.
the forest is near the coast, so stuff grows like crazy, and alot of the natural ecology of the area has been preserved, so this awesome grassland prairie terrain is everywhere. you're surrounded by these beautiful ginormous trees, and the ground is covered with flowers and greenery. it's one of those places where everything is pretty... like the dirt is even pretty. no seriously! ok - maybe the dirt isn't pretty. but everything about the area is so rich and green... it kinda just feels like everything sparkles.
we also just think it's kind of awesome to go somewhere you can pretend you're an Ewok. are you saying that's lame?
what to do in The Redwood Forest...
go hiking
this is the perfect place to go hiking for anyone. most of the hiking is easy to moderate. it's actually alot of soft, flat walking trails. there are over 200 miles of hiking, so it never gets boring.
go camping or rent a cabin
we were camping kids haha, so we have done the tent camping in the Redwoods. it's awesome. we loved it, but it may not be your thing, so they also have luxury cabins with fireplaces, refrigerators, microwaves, cable TV, and Wi-Fi for some princess camping :D.
Folie Douce
it's this unbelievable restaurant just down highway 101 from the forest in this little town called Arcata. the food there is so amazing because they get their ingredients from the area's farmers and farmers' markets. everything is organic and local and fresh... which is really rare for eating out food - so we think it's amazing.

Redwood Canopy Tours
we may be dorks... ok so we are dorks, but we love any kind of adventure rope course zipliney tree climby kind-of anything. maybe we're eternal 5 year olds, or maybe that stuff is just awesome! anyways, the Redwood Canopy Tours has climbing, zipping, and rappelling through the Redwood Trees... 'nuff said.
head to the coast
the entire Northern California Coast is breathtaking, there is a reason highway 101 is a super famous scenic drive! you can head out of the forest on 101 and the Pacific Ocean is right there. there are some amazing spots to hit up like Humboldt Lagoons State Park, Big Lagoon, and Patrick's Point.
the redwoods hiking hottie attire
we're not fashionistas when we hike. we're all about comfort, staying warm - or cool, and having on seriously appropriate shoes. buuuut - you can still get all that down, and be cute!
Hiking Shoes
all-important. the misery on your face from blisters cannot be hidden by a cute pair of shoes - so get some legit hiking tread going.
A Cute Comfy Hoodie
you can take it off or have it on depending on the temperature of the hike - and hoodies are always cute.
Bermuda Cargo Shorts
short enough to be athletic, but long enough to be athletic - get it? :D

:) :) :) :) :)

Cuteeee!!! :) :)
