why we love it...

we're total water babies. we love going to the lake, being on the lake, boating, wakeboarding, houseboating, swimming, inner tubing - whatev - we love to live at the lake. havasu is more than just another lake... the actual Old London Bridge is on the lake in Lake Havasu City. it's amazing! you can totally boat right under it and it's sooo beautiful! in addition to being lake babies, we're admitted architecture nerds, so we can appreciate an inner tube ride and a historical bridge all in one outing.

when to go to havasu...

spring break - if you're a party kid

k... but only if you want to go and do the crazy dancing on a boat, toasting strangers, not sleeping right for a week thing. we went with a huge group of like 40 friends who road-tripped it, shared hotel rooms, and we all lived it up together. we had to experience it just once - but next time we'll go on an off week.

summertime - if you're a water baby

it's a sunshine summery vaction-y place - and it's HOT. go in the summer only if you want to be in the water like - the whole time. it's over 100 degrees basically from june to august, so summer va-cay it at your own risk.

september or octoberish - if you're a mellow kid

the party weekends start to die down a little after labor day, and you can go experience Havasu without a frat boy hollering at you every ten minutes.

what to do in havasu...

get a hotel on the water

we rented rooms at this adorable hotel called 'The Nautical Inn' right on the water. sooo cute! we could walk out the back door - onto our little deck - then onto a little lawn - then right out to our boats. it's kind of how you have to do it yo.

rent a boat of some kind...

rent a ski boat, a house boat, a patio boat... whatever. just a find a way to be on the water for sure.

havasu fashion must-haves

think budget vacation. you're going to be hot, wet, and outside almost the whole time, so don't take your favorite accessories, or your designer bag. take things you're not afraid to lose, damage, or never wear again haha. but of course you still want to be cute... just think casual and discount!

Flip Flops

you'll be boat-hopping and beach walking, so you wont want complicated shoes. keep it easy in flip flops.
