how we found them...

before the internet became a crazy mess of comment arguments and photo gallery wars, it was this awesome way to find new bands you'd never find otherwise. we try to just ignore the rest and find the music. that's how we found these boys... on a random night of listening to purevolume.com we found one song. then we went straight to their myspace and left them on repeat 'till 2am.

why we're buzzing...

this band is so new, we can't even give you a preview, but we promise you, they will be seriously huge. Mark has hands down one of the best voices we've ever heard. it's the kind of voice that gives you chills and makes you feel what a song is saying in your bones. the band has taken all their influences to heart and mixed it into their own creative sound and are already making amazing songs. they are on the verge of releasing their first EP so we're stoked for them - and "it" haha.

the boys have their CD Release Show coming up on January 23rd, so if you are lucky enough to be near Towson, Maryland, they are playing at The Recher Theater. the show starts at 6pm and you can get tickets here. if you're like us and you live far far away from the boys, you can pre-order the CD here. we already ordered ours and we're sooo excited!

Danny, who plays bass for the band, gave us the inside info ;0)...

Pretty Princess Girls:

We just recently found you guys when we were wasting time on the internet, and we no kidding listened to the 3 songs up from you guys for like 7 hours straight on repeat that night, and then went through anything we could to find more, haha. We're pretty sure that's love at first sound :D.

We saw in the video on myspace where you mentioned this is the first EP release for all of you, and we read how you guys have formed together from 2 other bands. How excited are you for the EP to come out? And tell us a little bit about how this band came together?

Danny from Storm The Beaches:

This EP is very exciting for all of us, it our first ever CD! While we are really excited about what this EP could bring, we are already writing for our full length. As a band we are constantly thinking "Okay, cool. What's next?" So while we have been working really hard towards this EP and still have a lot to do, we are already working on the next thing.

The band came together when it came time for my 18th birthday party. It was being held at a big church and my mom wanted me to put together a jam band for that night consisting of old members from my previous bands. So Mark sang and played guitar, Wills played guitar, myself on bass, and Josh on drums. After a full night of just playing random covers, we kinda all just left the party happy about what just occurred. Then we all got together and decided to create, what is now, Storm The Beaches.

Pretty Princess Girls:

You guys are in the pop/rock genre, but we totally hear this epic "Explosions In The Sky" vibe in the background of your music. Who are your guys' biggest influences and what bands are you stoked on at the moment?

Danny from Storm The Beaches:

We get that a lot. Our goal as a band, is to take what we love about good musicianship and bring it into a pop/rock song. Rooftops is a great example of that. We all are inspired by Angels And Airwaves, and bands of that sort. But we also love a good Pop song. So to find a line between the two, is where we want to be.

Pretty Princess Girls:

Mark's voice and range are pretty insane, one of the best voices we've heard in forever - was he a choir kid? And will we be able to get the song "Heaven" on his solo myspace anywhere?

Danny from Storm The Beaches:

That's so funny that you actually asked! He wasn't a choir kid, but he was a worship leader at our church for 2 years! And he is actually planning on rerecording all of his acoustic songs again, so be on the look out for that!

Pretty Princess Girls:

Since you guys have the big CD release show coming up, are there tour plans in the works, and will you be heading to the south or the west coast anytime soon :D?

Danny from Storm The Beaches:

In the summer, we plan to be on the road the whole time. Right now we are around MD's neighbor states. We will definitely be in the south, the west coast would be awesome, but who knows. Well see :).

We're actually kind of surprised at how awesome you guys are and that we just found you, and that you're releasing your very first EP. Since you've been in other bands, do you feel something different and better with this band, like you can sense "the magic" is for sure there with this group of guys?

Storm The Beaches is here to stay. Enough said, haha.
