do we really watch racing?

we can’t lie… not really :\. with all of us girls either having lived in Nashville, or grown up there, we think we have been scared off of any kind of car racing because of the major Nascar overload in Tennessee. our favorite part of ‘Days of Thunder’ was the fact that John C. Reilly was totally trying to be serious in it. but we did like that Sylvester Stallone movie with the quarterback from ‘Remember The Titans’… no we really did. but other than that, go kart racing and Mario Kart are usually the extent of our time on the track .

why we’re crushing…

we may be motivated to watch car racing for this boy. Marco Andretti is kind of the young rockstar version of an auto racing guy. he’s definitely not an old redneck with a big mustache. he’s more kind of hot in that way Tom Cruise was hot to our moms in the 80’s.

the daredevil thing is hot…

we’re not into ‘bad boys’ at all. you know, the whole brooding, degrading, ‘i sit around with my friends and think im awesome because i’m a jerk to girls’ thing. we actually find that completely cliche’, and boring, and predictable. that kind of guy is in reality really insecure. nothing’s exciting about insecurity, in fact it gets old super fast.

but what is exciting, is a daredevil vibe. we’re really adventurous ourselves, so we love it when boys are “boys”, you know. like when they aren’t afraid to get dirty, to go fast, and to try new things. and even though we are pretty willing to try things, there are some things we just wouldn’t be brave enough to do. insane car racing is for sure on that list, haha. and this boy does it for a living. we find it incredibly hot when a boy is fearless, and brave, and has fun going nuts with something he’s passionate about.

he’s a legacy…

he’s a 3rd generation race car driver, and his grandpa is a serious legend. he’s had a crazy amount of pressure on him since he was 9 years old to carry on the legacy. to be able to come out successful under that kind of pressure and not just go off the deep end, is pretty impressive. we’re guessing he has good genes, but hard work, determination, and a ton of focus have to come into play too. one of the things we find least attractive in a boy is apathy, so we think it’s awesome when boys take whatever situation they are given and make the most positive experience come from it.
