Vision Boards
what’s the inspiration?
Vision Boards
what is it?
it’s a visual inspiration board you make. basically you put together a collage of pictures, phrases, and decorations about the things you dream of, who you want to be, and the life you want to create for yourself. the theory is that you create what you focus on in life, so why not give yourself a beautiful way to focus on the things you really wish for?
why we’re buzzing…
krissie got together with some friends and created her very first vision board! SO fun! we’re really into positive thinking and we’re so excited to see what happens!

what you need to make a vision board...

1. a board
a nice solid poster board works fine. if you want to have your vision board be prettier and fancier, then go for a cork bulletin board.

2. a bunch of different magazines
krissie and her friends brought a whole bunch of different kinds... Teen Vogue, Rolling Stone, Shape, Sunset, etc. think of all the things in your life you want to create... so bring fashion, health, travel, music, and any other kind of magazine that has phrases and pictures that will inspire you.

3. scissors, glue, & a trash bag
scissors to cut stuff out, glue to stick the stuff on your board, and trash to clean up all of the scraps!

4. decorative accents
get stickers, bows, ribbons, beads... anything that will give your board color and create a "feeling" you want to feel when you look at your board. if you feel good when you look at it, you'll believe in the things you want more! the best place to find accents is at a scrapbook supplies store or a craft store.

creating your vision board...
step 1: lay out all of the magazines and just start going through them. don't overthink it, just cut out things that catch your eye, get you excited, and represent the things you want to create. don't start gluing yet, just make a big pile.
step 2: start going through your pile and laying the pictures and phrases you love on the board. again, just keep following your instincts and allow yourself to choose what feels right and let go of what doesn't. this is where you'll start connecting with the things you truly want and start letting go of the things you just "think" you are supposed to have on the board. there are no rules to how it's all arranged, just be creative, have fun, and let your vision unfold naturally.
step 3: once you have all your pics in place, start gluing. then add in your embellishments, ribbons, stickers, and give it an inspiring energy.
step 4: hang or place your vision board somewhere you will see it everyday. don't feel any pressure, just take it in, feel good about it, believe you deserve the things you dream of, and let it all unfold!
