So many things inspire us. Everywhere, everyday, and we believe that if something gives us hope, or makes us think bigger, then we can pass it on, and maybe inspire someone else!

what is it?

an organization that gives prom dresses and accessories to girls who can’t afford it, with the help of donations from corporations… and girls like you!

why we’re inspired…

every girl… and we mean every girl deserves to feel like a princess at her prom, and The Princess Project is on a mission to make that possible. it also inspires girls to give to each other… which we love.

how the project started...

2 awesome women named Laney Whitcanack and Kristi Smith Knutson originally started with raising money in the Bay Area to provide a prom dress for one girl. it then evolved into a yearly event, and is now a full time project.

the success...

the project now has 3 locations in the Bay Area, the ladies won 'The Jefferson Award' for their work, the organization was a recipient of Google Grants, and they have provided prom dresses for over 9,000 girls! kind of amazing :D.

why we think the project is so important...

to some people it may not seem like prom is the the most important thing in the world. we think the project is about so much more than just dresses and looking pretty at a dance. it's about self worth, and confidence, and the idea that every girl deserves to feel valuable, and worthy, and special. every girl deserves to celebrate who they are. money and circumstance shouldn't prevent girls from feeling that way. teenage years are awkward for almost everyone, and it's even worse if your family struggles, or if you don't have the same opportunities as the kids around you. we believe that the project gives every girl of every shape, size, and situation, the opportunity to know that they are worthy.

how can i help?

are you inspired by the project? while you are at your prom this year... or when you are remembering back to when your prom was... think about the amazing memories you have, and imagine giving that gift to someone else.
