the guy behind it...

Dave Cornthwaite

how the mission started...

although he'd only been skateboarding for about 2 weeks, Dave Cornthwaite was inspired to escape a dead-end job and answer the call of the wild and go on a skateboard journey.

what he did...

he skateboarded the entire length of Britain. no seriously. then after that, he took on the entire length of Australia. crazy? yup! awesome? totally.

how far did he board?

the combined distance of his journeys totaled 7253km... that's like over 4500 miles. that's super far to drive, much less board.

how significant was it?

he broke the Guinness Book of World Records longest skateboarding journey record for the 3621 mile trek from Perth to Brisbane.

how he expanded the experience...

it was originally about one man following his bliss, but he decided to use the experience to raise awareness and money for 3 charities... the Lowe Syndrome Trust, Link Community Development and Sailability Australia. by the time his journey was done, over 26,000 dollars was raised.

what happened after his journey?

other boarders became inspired and went on their own journeys, he published a book, and now Dave is taking his unique project to the water for a Stand Up Paddle journey with ocean rower Sarah Outen. The trip will be 150 miles between Bath and London in aid of the AV Foundation and CoppaFeel.

we totally believe that people who are happy and fulfilling their own passions are the best kind of people to help others. the best gifts in life come from a place of genuine love and passion. so we take from Dave's journey that we can all change the world by following our passions in life and letting that passion spill over onto others.
